Breyionna Flowers was raised in McAlmont, a small community in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where she spent most of her time crouched under her elders, listening to their tales of southern Black folklore and history. A huge advocate for education, Breyionna excelled at Jackson State University, where she earned her Bachelor's in Mass Communication (Production). She also studied Digital Filmmaking (Scriptwriting) and Anthropology at the University of Central Arkansas, where she gained another Bachelor's. She attained her M.F.A. in Motion Picture Art (Directing) from Florida State University. Her work explores vast spaces of Afro-futurism and theories of Afrocentrism. She seeks to introduce fresh, cultural narratives about the complexity of Blackness and vulnerability. It is her goal that her work becomes a catalyst for conversation, thought and imagination. o r g s . Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
