Breyionna Flowers was raised in McAlmont, a small community in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where she spent most of her time crouched under her elders, listening to their tales of southern Black folklore and history.

A huge advocate for education, Breyionna excelled at Jackson State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication (Digital Production). She also studied Digital Filmmaking (Scriptwriting) and Anthropology at the University of Central Arkansas, where she gained another Bachelor's degree. She then earned her Master of Fine Arts in Motion Picture Art (Directing) from Florida State University.

Her work explores magical, Afro-futuristic worlds. She seeks to introduce fresh, cultural narratives about the complexity of Black identity and vulnerability. It is her goal that her work becomes a catalyst for radical joy, creativity and imagination.
